The Role
We are looking for a hands-on Sales Manager to lead a small outbound sales team while continuing to sell directly. This is a player-coach role: you will carry your own pipeline, close business, coach the team and be accountable for overall sales performance.
The team will consist of 3–5 employees, including a lead generation / lead mining resource. We will provide direction on the geographic markets and verticals to pursue; you will develop and execute the sales strategy for those markets.
Key Responsibilities
• Sell & Lead by Example: Prospect, qualify, follow up and close your own opportunities while demonstrating the sales standards expected from the team.
• Manage Sales Performance: Set targets, review pipelines and hold the team accountable for activity, conversions and revenue.
• Coach the Team: Listen to calls, role-play, review opportunities and provide practical coaching to improve sales results.
• Develop Sales Strategy: Build the prospecting approach, messaging, target-account priorities and follow-up strategy for the geographic areas and verticals provided by the company.
• Lead Generation: Direct the lead generation / lead mining resource to build relevant prospect lists and maintain a consistent flow of opportunities.
• HubSpot: Ensure HubSpot is consistently used for prospecting activity, deal stages, notes, follow-ups, pipeline management and reporting.
• Full Employee Lifecycle Management: Manage staffing needs, recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance, retention and employee transitions for the sales team.
Compensation & Performance
Compensation will include a base salary plus performance-based earnings. Variable compensation will be based in part on the Sales Manager’s own sales and in part on the sales generated by the team.
Success will be measured by personal sales, team sales, pipeline development, conversion performance and the ability to build and maintain a productive sales team.
Requirements:
• Proven outbound B2B sales experience with a track record of personally closing business.
• 3–5 years of sales leadership, supervisory or team-lead experience.
• Strong coaching skills and a willingness to sell alongside the team.
• Experience developing and executing outbound sales strategies.
• Strong working knowledge of HubSpot and Microsoft 365.
• BPO sales experience preferred; telecommunications experience is highly preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
• Self-directed and accountable for both personal and team results.
